NADINE GREEN

Hi Nadine!  Thanks so much for your lovely comment, you've totally made my day!  I hope you'll enjoy reading The Outlaw Varjak Paw as well - here's one of my favourite images from it:

In fact, that's one of my all-time favourite pictures by Dave McKean – along with the unbelievably brilliant work he's done for my new book, Phoenix!  Publication is less than 3 months away now, so I'll be posting some of those new pictures soon...  hope you like them too!  And please let everyone at your school know that there is a new book on the way!!!

I bought both these books for my daughter to read and she loved them. Heck, I loved them too. We now have the ebook for Varjak Paw. Will "The Outlaw Varjak Paw" be available as an ebook here in the U.S. soon? I see it everywhere else but here. :-(

Hi Steve, thanks so much for that wonderful comment, and please thank your daughter too! To be honest, I don't know the answer to your question, as I thought Outlaw was available as an ebook in the US - but I've asked my agent to look into it, and as soon as I hear anything from her, I will post it right here!

Dear SF Said
Tell me please: but do you have any hobbies?

SF Said said...

Hi Ivan, thank you for the question. I do have some hobbies - photography is one of my favourites, I wrote about it here. I also love watching films, and football!

Hello again Steve! So I asked my agent and publishers about this, and they told me that The Outlaw Varjak Paw is available as an ebook in the US - here's a link to its page on amazon.com

dear SF Said
Book Varjak outlawed learning a bleak, oppressive atmosphere
Do not you think that it is written in the style of Dark Fantasy?

SF Said said...

Hi Ivan, thanks again! I'm never sure about categories, to be honest - I just think of my books as books - but dark fantasy sounds about right for The Outlaw Varjak Paw. It is quite a dark book, and it definitely has fantastical elements... What do you think?

Ivan said...

I'm not good in the literary genres.
Varjak paw certainly a very dark book, and of course fantasy.
I think the genre of dark fantasy, suitable for varjak, with one exception, it has a good ending.

SF Said said...

Sounds about right to me!

I wonder what genre Phoenix will fall into... It has science fiction elements, of course, but also fantasy elements, and what I'd call mythic elements... I don't think there's a category for it yet!

Ivan said...

This is interesting
I am sure to read the phoenix, when it will translate into Russian

Thank you Ivan, I hope you enjoy it!

Dear SF Said tell
but is there any accessories Varyak paw?

SF Said said...

Hi Ivan - I'm sorry, I don't quite understand what you mean by 'accessories'? Could you give me an example please?

Ivan said...

respected SF Said
Speaking of accessories, I mean, key chains, figurines, picture, T-Shirts.
How is it

SF Said said...

Ah, I see! No, there aren't such things yet. They usually tend to come with films rather than books, but maybe we should make some... A Varjak Paw t-shirt would be an amazing thing!

Ivan said...

Yes, that would be great
You can make a statuette varjak and key chain.

SF Said said...

Well, who knows, maybe one day!

Dear SF Said
Tell books Varjak paw is children's book.
Maybe the third book will be for adults?
After all, those who have a child read VarJak paw has grown.

SF Said said...

Well, I don't really think in terms of ages when I write. I try to make all my work as readable and accessible as possible, so that children can read it, but I also hope that adults can enjoy reading it too. I love the idea of books that everyone can read, though they might read it in different ways at different ages - a good example is one of the books that inspired me most: Watership Down, by Richard Adams. In the same way, I hope that my books might have something for readers of any age, any gender, anywhere in the world...

Thanks, SF, for the reply. The link works, but I still cannot buy the book at Amazon here in the US. :-(

SF Said said...

Hi Steve, that's very strange! Can you tell me exactly what happens when you try to buy it? I'll pass the details on to my publishers and see if they can help...

Unknown said...

Hi SF. Sorry for the delay. :-) Under the title of the book it says "Pricing information is not available," and to the right it says "This title is not currently available for purchase." So I'm guessing it's still not available here in the U.S.

Any info on when/if it will be available would be great. Thanks!

SF Said said...

Thank you Steve - I'll pass that on, and I'll let you know what I hear back from them...
